There was a little mouse
who needed a little house. 
But the poor little mouse
didn’t know how to build a little house.
 
 As he was walking, he worried,
 “Whatever will I do?”
 Then he ran across
 an old, forgotten shoe.
 
 He crawled right in.
 “This is cozy,” he thought.
 Then it started to rain
and very wet he got.
 
Poor Little Mouse
still had no home.
Then he ran across 
a little garden gnome.
 
 “Why the long face?” asked Mr. Gnome.
“What is it that is wrong?”
Little Mouse replied,
“I’ve been looking for a home all day long.”  
 
“Are you hungry?” Inquired Mr. Gnome. 
Little Mouse answered, “Yes,” wondering why.
“A pumpkin will fill your tummy and keep you dry.
Simply eat your way in, then snuggle up inside.”
 
Little Mouse glanced up the hill and sure enough, 
what did he see, 
but a patch full 
of more orange pumpkins 
than he could even believe.
 
"Thank you kindly, Mr. Gnome,"
exclaimed Little Mouse.
"No problem at all, friend,
Enjoy your dinner and your house!"
