Stocking or Not to Stuff - Kindness is Enough
 
Did you know, the very best gifts
are gifts we cannot hold?
 
Wait? What? You ask.
Oh, yes, indeed!
The best gifts you can give
are gifts you cannot see!
 
What is this mystery gift,
that makes no sense at all?
It’s kindness, of course,
the best gift of all! 
 
How do you give kindness?
You can’t even count the ways!
There are an infinite number of things to do
to brighten someone’s day!                
 
So, let us just begin
with these socks and this pen.
 
Think of whose heart you’d like to fill with joy.
Who needs some love in their day?
Cut out to blank note to the right,
then think of what you’ll say.
 
Place your note in a sock.
Place the socks back in the bag to give away.
The pen is yours to keep
for more kindness another day.
 
Now think for a moment 
as you let your focus shift.  
May you realize now 
what is truly the gift.
 
Was it the socks
OR was it YOU?
What matters more than stuff
is what you say and do.
