Around Thanksgiving every year, turkeys need a place to go,
where they can be loved and comfortably lay low.
The Turkey Protection Program was created to help turkeys in need
of finding a safe place with a kind host family.

There was once a young turkey, Gilbert was his name,
who wanted to make a difference.  He wanted to create change.
He set out with his new buddy, Curly Q Drew,
to help more turkeys and see what he could do.

One day Gilbert and Drew took a wrong turn
and ended up at the dreaded Vulture Tower.  But what did they learn?
That though they were different, the vultures were not their foe.
The vultures had a sense of humor, big hearts and what do you know…

the vultures volunteered to help their fellow birds,
they vowed to lend a hand…or a wing rather, in no uncertain terms.
The vultures picked up the turkeys then flew them to Drew’s
with the utmost care and concern.

They all became good friends!  It felt good to help others,
no matter the bird, the type of feather or color.
From that point forward this big family of friends
supported each other and offered to help one another time and again.

As for Gilbert and Drew, well, they became brothers.
Their bond was so strong, and they were so close,
one would never know they were from different mothers.
They loved the life they created working together to help so many others.

Every time they had success or simply needed to relax and rest,
you know what they’d do?
They’d put on some music, they’d laugh, and they’d dance,
busting their favorite Drew Moves!

Be like the vultures, Drew and Gilbert anytime you can,
lend a wing or lend a hand.
A new family of friends awaits you, too,
when you share your time and talents and your own special moves!
